Samsung Galaxy S8: Unleashing the beast

Rumors say that Samsung Galaxy S8 device will be launched in February 2017. Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to arrive with Android 7 (Nougat) out of the box. All of us do know that all the flagship devices by Samsung are single SIM devices and that will not change with Galaxy S8. It will support 4G network bands of India and will operate smoothly on LTE network. It is believed that the company will present the device with VoLTE enabled. When talking about Galaxy S8, one can never forget to ask whether it will have a fingerprint sensor and quick charge? Oh yes, the device will support both this extraordinary feature.

Display

Samsung Galaxy S8 will sport a huge 5.5-inch display. The display will have a resolution of 2160 x 3864 pixels. The pixel density of this device will be 801 pip. Yep, you read that right 801 is the pixel density, which means enhanced, clearer, sharper, crisper, and enlightened image and video quality. The display is the trademark Samsung AMOLED display. It has one extraordinary feature, and for that benefit only users love AMOLED. These displays show black colour accurately black as compared to another device. In the layman language, one can say black looks exactly black while on other devices black looks dark gray. Well, don't get confused if you buy one you will understand the difference. The display will be protected by Gorilla Glass v4, and it will be a device with capacitive touch and 10 points multi-touch support.

Performance

Samsung Galaxy S8 will run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 MSM 8998. It is a quad-core processor with two dual-core Kryo chips clocked at 2.4GHz and 2GHz respectively. The processor has a 64bit architecture for better data manipulation at a fast transfer rate. The graphics will be handled by Adreno 540 Graphics Processing Unit. With it, faster performance on high-end Android games is smooth, efficient and lag free. The onboard storage on Galaxy S8 will be 64GB, and it will support MicroSD up to 2TB. Yes, 2TB MicroSD support which means no desktops and laptops needed if you have this one. A minicomputer in itself as referred by some tech-geeks. With the allowed storage, expanding capability countless songs, videos, and movies can be downloaded and kept in your pocket for on the immediate use.

Camera

This device has three cameras in total. Two cameras constitute to be a single camera on the rear end and a single camera on the front side. On the rear side, the camera is 12MP+12MP. The rear camera is enabled with phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization to remove vibrancy in the captured snap. A dual tone LED flash is given to capture bright and enhanced images in low-light. The image captured will be in 4000 x 3000 resolution. Exposure compensation can be done from the settings panel. Images can be captured in two modes High Dynamic Range, HDR mode and continuous shooting mode. Camera features include digital zoom, touch to focus and auto focus with face detection. The front camera is 8MP, and front flash is not provided.

Battery

This device is expected to arrive with a 4000mAh battery. With the humongous battery life, it can efficiently go on for two days without needing any recharge. The battery will be a Li-polymer battery and will support wireless charging. The device also has a quick charge enabled with which one can recharge the device option 50℅ in 15-30 mins’ time. The battery will be non-replaceable by users.

Connectivity

The device will support 4G (Indian bands), 3G and 2G networks. It will also support VoLTE, which means calls can be made using the data connection. Wi-Fi is provided to browse efficiently and fast. The device will work as a portable hotspot so that one can share his/her data. Bluetooth v4.2 is provided for fast transfer over a Bluetooth connection. Navigation can be done using A-GPS and GLONASS. The device will provide an NFC feature to the user for convenience. Charging can be done using USB Class-C port.

Verdict

Samsung Galaxy S8 price in India is believed to be around 55k-60k. With all the specifications known, one can definitely go to the device. If one is waiting to buy a flagship smartphone, he/she should wait for a few more days and let the Samsung launch its Galaxy S8.
